“I’m sorry, but having an Aston Martin DB9 on the drive and not driving it is a bit like having Keira Knightley in your bed and sleeping on the couch. If you’ve got even half a scrotum it’s not going to happen.” - Jeremy Clarkson

Lets look at the facts:
A lamborghini re-invention is a 13 year olds idea of a cool body kit on an existing steel tube LP670 chassis. Further more it only makes 10 or 15 more hp than the standard LP670. And through brilliant stealth fighter (technically a bomber) marketing they dupted really wealthy people into thinking that they need this car.
on the other hand:
The One77 is a proper carbon tubed, rocker arm suspesion, billet all new V12 engined with drysump lubrication. Its an all new carbon Aston Martin. Is it as desireable as the re-invention? well, thats for the market to decide. Did much more engineering resources and technology go into the development of the One77? You bet!
Is it worth it - Yes.
