still debating between a RWD V8 vs this thing.. My thing when it comes to Evo and Sti are that they are just a bit too much of the rally car feel... no signs of luxury what-so-ever. Then again, if you buy an evo or STi, chances are luxury is way behind the list compare to the thrill of driving this car. OP, do you really feel the big difference going from a V8 to this thing?

Aside from the Recaro seats, the interior is very average:

Correct. Mitsubishi did NOTHING to make the interior feel special. As you can see, it's pretty bland inside. (I hate to admit, Subaru makes a better interior.) But you have the right idea, it's the engineering you're paying for!

I used to have a Holden SSV (aka Pontiac G8 GT). The difference between it and the Evo is night and day. The SSV was comfortable but big and ponderous. The Evo is not comfortable, small-ish, direct and sticks to the road like GLUE! It corners so damn hard, I actually managed to throw someone from one end of the backseat to the other while taking a 90º turn at speed! (Shame on her for not wearing a seatbelt).

Not to mention the phenomenal grip in the wet. I have to being doing something REALLY stupid for it to break free. If I drove my SSV the same way in the wet, I would have slammed it into multiple walls.

The lag from the SST (dual clutch) box on take off is annoying. But it's a minor annoyance I can live with, because on the fly, the shifts are effing amazing! I never considered the STi because I wanted an 'auto' (traffic can be a B1TCH in Sydney) plus Subaru/their owners don't have a great reputation over here.

I could go on for hours singing the praises of this car, but I wont. Test drive one and you'll know what it's all about
