Just picked up a WRX
Decided to treat myself after graduating college and pulling 60+ hour weeks since May, so I finally picked up something fun to drive (more fun than my Jeep at least)...

'09 Subaru WRX. 5 speed manual, bone stock, obsidian black pearl is the color. Not a 458, but its my first quick car and the first car I'll really mod. I live in Boulder, CO, so AWD was a necessity. I'll give it a full detail as soon as I get back from this business trip, plus the ski rack goes on this weekend, along with a hardwired V1 if it ships quickly. Blizzaks will keep me glued to the road till May (or June???), plus a tune, intake, and audio build hopefully before the New Year. Exhaust and suspension should come in the spring after a lift is installed in my detailing bay.
I know it's nothing major, but I'm proud of it and excited to tinker.

Nice ride. I'm still beating on my 02 with 110,000 miles and it hasn't given up yet, even with the 18g turbo upgrade.

Boulder's a Subaru paradise, and I've got multiple friends with WRX's over 150k, still running well. Take care if it, it will take care of you.

Self-admitted repost so I don't have to type it all again.

Nice and clean! Simple stage 2 should make it plenty quick!- K&N drop-in panel filter

- GMS silicone turbo inlet
- CNT stainless catted downpipe
- Walbro 255lph fuel pump
- GrimmSpeeed electronic boost control solenoid
- Open-source pro-tune

Yea I've been reading more and more to just use a panel filter. Plenty have suggested the downpipe as well, I'll need a tune sooner than later to help with the altitude.
Took it out for a drive today, we received a few inches overnight and this morning. The car is a blast in the snow, even with mediocre all-seasons on it - snow tires are coming soon.

Only in the event that you have no access to a competent local tuner. Cobb AP is OK, but the problem is that they are loaded with off-the-shelf maps designed to cover a universal progression of mods.
Not to mention it is expensive! I recommend having a reputable tuner do an open-source road tune for the specific car and mods. Dyno tunes are fun for bragging rights, but nobody drives to work on a dyno!

Congrats on the new car!
Definitely go open source over AP.
Filter is the most you need for an "intake" on a car under 300awhp
As for power mods:
1. Catless 3" downpipe
2. Try for an aftermarket CBE
3. GrimmSpeed BCS
-or-
Hallman Pro RX MBC (you have to watch the boost levels change with elevation and major temp changes, but it holds more boost to redline and the onset of boost is quicker than any other BC)
4. Walbro 255lph pump
5. Tune
A kartboy short shifter with all the bushings upgraded to Kartboy or TIC units will make you love life.
