Default Nissan GTR 2012 - Porsche, Corvette, Mustang, and even Ferrari should start to worry a little.

2012 Nissan GT-R, the engine delivers now 530-Horsepower, Nissan has managed to increase the power with 45 hp by modifying the boost pressure of the turbocharger, valve timing and air fuel ratio, and through reducing intake air resistance by enlarging the inlet pipe diameter, reducing the exhaust air resistance through use of an enlarged section of exhaust pipe. The strong visual presence of the 2012 GT-R was enhanced by a newly refreshed front fascia, with aggressive double aerodynamic fins and new integrated high intensity LED running lights. The interior too is upgraded, by using more race-look-a-like features, better race seats, and soft materials.

So should brands like Porsche, Corvette and even Ferrari and Lamborghini start to look behind in the rear view mirror and watch the competition gaining ground more and more? I would say so.

    Engine
    VR38DETT – 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged 24-valve V6; each engine hand-crafted by its own master technician in a clean-room environment

    - Aluminum pistons
    - Nissan Direct Ignition System
    - Iridium-tipped spark plugs
    - Electronic drive-by-wire throttle
    - Pressurized lubrication system with thermostatically controlled cooling and magnesium oil sump
    - Fully symmetrical dual intake and low back-pressure exhaust system
    - Secondary air intake system to rapidly heat catalysts to peak cleaning efficiency

C'mon man, lets not look at the 2012's any more. They're slow and down on power! Let's talk about the 2013 GTR's!

    - The 2013 GTR will once again feature a substantial gain in HP on par with the current increase from last years model. The final number will be announced at the car's launch, but it was shown at the event to be at least 40hp so expect 570+ HP. In addtion to increased boost, revisions to the intake and exhaust have been made.

    - Visually the 2013 remains the same with no additional color options

    - Suspension and Transmission logic have been tweaked

    - Under body has been changed to improve aero and cooling

    - Co2 emissions have once again been lowered

    - Premium Black Edition and Egoist will be offered worldwide

    - Official Ring Time Attack attempt is expected mid October

    - The R35 life cycle is expected to continue for 2 additional model years

Let me start by saying, these cars are incredible. Truly engineering masterpieces, that somehow manage the times and performance they do, at a fraction of the cost of it's competitors. With that being said, in comparison to the worries that the Viper and Vette teams may have, I'd bet they're slim. Not only do they have the upper hand in looks (imo), but many people looking to buy a car with this price tag, with these performance numbers are not going to worry about the advantage the GTR offers on the track. For many of them, a ZR1 or the next gen Viper will offer more than they are looking for, and that will leave the looks for the final decision. Also, with new models coming out, they are able to build the new Viper and C7 to compete with this, if they'd like. I understand, it would be extremely difficult to put those numbers down with RWD, but if they were concerned solely on performance, they could put a contender in the ring (pun intended) and box. To sum up, yes, this 2012 GTR in incredible, and it does have some people worried, but I dont believe anyone is shaking in their britches. And there is my 0.02

I'm a believer !! It's the quickest, best handling, bone-stock vehicle I've ever driven. Now modded, it's just plain ridiculous :-)

The 2013 GT-R is going to demolish the status quo of dominance by Prancing Horses, Raging Bulls, Corvettes, Vipers, and P cars.

I still remember the quote from Top Gear when Jeremy Clarkson said Ferrari doesn't know how Nissan can produce such a fast vehicle. 2013 will be epic!

I've been daily driving the stradale while the r8's getting worked on. No fuss, no problems and just as dd'able as the Audi.
