Well, good news. Ordered a few brake goodies, and going to pick up the wilwood adapters within the next week (they have been waiting in toronto for me)

Its supposed to be 10+ degrees over the next few days so I'm going home and going to try and finish the power steering and intercooler piping.

I'll try to get some pictures up by the end of the week.

Yeah I hope the 7m swap satisfies you.. It's still a good engine. I made the same mistake you did. When I decided to swap a 2j NA-t in my mkii, it was so much less headache than the 7m. And cheaper. All of the gauges are directly compatible with the ma61 wiring. Ended up throwing out the tach adapter I used with my 7mgte and temp sender uses same scale and is plug in. Other wiring is virtually identical to 7m wiring. Found cheap mounts which fit perfectly. 2jz oiling system is a million times better and more reliable, too. Also more efficient and makes more power Per psi... And no rebuild necessary for 500hp reliably. So i regret spending my money on the 7m, but I learned a lot about what not to do if you ever decide to go 2jz, you will find out EXACTLY what everybody is telling you. It is all true. No other engine can compare to the 2j. You would not have regretted dropping a 2j in there. In fact it makes almost as much power naturally aspirated as the 7mgte does with factory boost, with the same displacement

I thought the 7m was made for the mkii until I dropped a 2j in that biatch

Hmmm, didn't know all the wiring was compatible. I recall asking about a 2J swap harness and getting some pretty high quotes. Do you still have the Mk2?

As for a thread update. I'm putting in an order for new Toyota Rad hoses (Lower for the 84, Upper for the 89 so I can cut to fit) a few oil hoses and that's pretty much all I need aside from a few universal oiling line lengths. At the end of the month I have a week off school, I need to go visit family for a few days aside from that I'll be in that garage and this thread will be picture heavy. It was a wonderful day out today, ran around town in shorts! Let's hope it keeps up!

I didn't know that either, that's pretty cool, almost like it was meant to be haha! And seriously, as much as I like the idea of doing a different motor build (and give you respect for doing it), the 7M just can't logically compete with the 2J. Even built 7Ms are prone to BHG, all you need for a 2JZ-GE is a stock TT head gasket and ARP hardware and the thing will make change-your-underwear power reliably on pump gas all day long!

Well, we will see how the 7MGTE treats me.... 2JZ is always the next option. Seems to be the way to go with at least mk2 Supra guys. Start with 5MGE, it fails go 6MGE, it fails go 7MGTE, it fails go 1/2JZ Done and if that fails me the damn car is going off of a bridge.

11 Days and counting. Everyone pray for good weather!
