I found an NSX in a barn, with 7,300 miles... WHAT DO I DO?
Pretty much a family friend of ours has a 1993 black on black NSX, 5 speed. The car has 7,300 miles. I drove the car 2 years ago, and i was the last person to drive it... I talked to him and he said he would take 25k for the car, what should i do? is it worth it for me to buy and sell at that price?
I am not an nsx pro, but i know that 7,300 miles is unusual... This will postpone my new car purchase, but I think its good..
any input?Current

i dont have any right now, i don't want to harass the man all the time to look at his car... i have the ones from 2 years ago on my old cell phone...
The car is clean and actually still smells new, but i am worried about it sitting, as far as the seals goCurrent

I'd be worried as hell from a driver stand point, if you plan to put some miles on it there will most likely be issues...
From a collector stand point probably a solid purchase...

Thats the funny thing... he told me 20k, so i sold my rx7. then i go over to buy it and he says 25k, because they went up in value??? I might just go over there with 20k in paper cash and see what happens... This guy has more cash then anyone i have ever met... Has 3 houses in my town. One to sleep, one for toys, and one to read... has a greenhouse to grow tomatoes in the winter, and an amphibian to cross over his moat, to an island he built with a bench to read on... but the coolest guy you have ever met too, crazy stories

Wait 25k? the car is work 26k according to kbb in fair condition. retail value is 36.5 K. 25 is a little steep but nsx are reliable. Fair offer would be 20-23k cause if it has not been driven in 2 years it will need some work. Tires, brakes, all fluids changed, gastank drained and cleaned. but i would try to low ball him and get a quote to over haul the motor. Comtec supercharger???

If this helps you at all i did a search for wholesale prices sold at dealer auctions in the southeast and they had 2 recently sold at wholesale auction for....
1993 Acura NSX 2D Coupe 5sp
*Lauderdale/Miami Auction: $21,800 with 122,000miles SOLD
*Statesville, NC Auction: $25,400 with 83,000miles SOLD
*These are wholesale prices before dealer/retail markup.
See if he would take $21,000 cash. Quick deal in and out. Or maybe work between the two prices.. with those low miles you should be able to move it EASY and should make $$$... all it takes is 2 people that want the car to bid it up.
