Buy it. These, like MK4 Supras, are the best value-holding Japanese cars. My friend had a midnight purple '95 he bought for $24k, drove it all summer and sold it for $30k.
With that kind of mileage, you should be able to get close to $30k no problem.

Its probably going to need tires, other than that, check out the belts and hoses. The "seals" are probably going to be fine. 2 years isn't "that" long of a time to be sitting to be honest. I know guys that keep cars at private airports so theyll have something to drive when they land. Most of them sit for 1-2 years at a time and never have any issues other than low air pressure and dead batteries..

Buy it, I know a guy who recently bought one with no clutch and 22K miles for 23.5K.
only sold it after he ruined it.
he loved the suspension he put on it, loved the wheels, kicked himself over and over for turboing it and selling the stock parts. although, he sold it for like 30K turboed...

If you don't go through with the purchase, will you PM me his info.
I wouldn't worry about it sitting for two years. Some very minor updates will have it in great condition.

First thing you are going to need to do is replace the timing belt, cooling hoses and reservoir. Do that before you even attempt to drive it. Let me know if I can help you with anything. I work for Santa Monica Acura and take care of most of the NSXs' that come to the dealership.

i look forward to hearing more about this. NSX's are some of the most collectible and sought-after Hondas ever made in many ways and seem to hold their value very well. Their reliability and timeless design surely help

I'd go for it at $22K take it or leave it. I think someone like him already knows the value of a low-milage car that's desireable to those that know about this car.
Since it "sounds" like he's only interested in selling only because you're asking, that's good because if he has it out on Ebay or Craigslist, you'd be out-bidded as some will attest. So far, time is on your side. keep your fingers crossed and good luck.
And if you do get it, you'll have one of those "barnyard finds" stories to tell.
I'm still poking around on a 65' Convertible Mustang, Poppy Red, that has never been run after 73'.... I'll have to see if anyone's finally gotten that thing out of the warehouse...
