My mom's cars on the list...I'll have to fill her in.

When I had my Ranger I had this same problem! Gave me a scare a few times...

I am a Service Advisor at a toyta Dealer and this has been creating alot of fear in people. There isn't a actual recall set up yet because Toyota is still figuring out what to do about the problem. We were told to tell customers to place the drivers mat in the trunk and leave it there until they get a recall notice.

Sheesh! My wife is picking up her new car this month and it's already on the recall list. I wonder if they'll give us the "defective" floor mats anyway so the carpets won't get dirty.

isn't it just people not hooking the floor mats back on and/or purchasing all weather floor mats that are too thick?

That's exactly what I thought. I think Toyota is jumping on a landmine here, unless the hooks are defective. Regardless, when we pick up our car in a couple of weeks I want friggin floor mats.
