Default Honda Accord Crosstour joins lineup for 2010

Part wagon, part crossover, the 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour was revealed on Tuesday ahead of its launch this fall.

The Crosstour is based on the Accord sedan but gets a bolder grille and wedged-shaped C-pillars. The Crosstour is similar to the Acura ZDX concept shown at the New York auto show, but that was based on a different platform.

Crossover function comes with an increased ride height and what Honda calls "all-weather potential"--code words for all-wheel drive.

The Crosstour will top the Accord lineup, Honda says, so look for pricing to be higher than for its sedan sibling.

The cargo area in the rear of the Crosstour is less prominent than in other crossovers, as the lines flow back to give it a hatchlike appearance. The Crosstour will go head-to-head with the Toyota Venza, among other crossovers.

Honda needs to start producing the Honda Accord wagon again in the US. I know Europe and others get the TSX wagon version. Why not us?

And this thing is hideous. Hideous.

That is pretty damn horrible.. I second that we should get the TSX wagon. At least it looks nice.

That almost makes the X6 look good. Almost.

The Venza is much "less ugly."

I'll stick with my lowered Odyssey!
