    Was once a Land Rover owner.. now a Honda owner. Just traded my clunker LR Disco 2 in for an 09 Honda Civic Si. I was able to sell off all my extras such as roof rack and winch bumper, etc. Just went from 10 mpg to 30 mpg

    how many miles do you drive in an average day?

    a quick google search suggests the average person drives 12 - 13k miles per year...

    a difference of 20 miles per gallon => 12500/20 = 625gallons saved.

    AAA lists todays gas price average as $2.626 per gallon => 2.626*625 = $1641.25 saved.

    congratulations, thats a pretty good chunk of change!

    Congrats! Kinda! I'd have personally gone for a GTI, as it's in the same price range, but hey! As long as you like it, that's what counts. Have any plans for it?

    I ended up getting the car for a little over half the dealer's price. Along with CARS program and the sale of parts off my truck, it was worth it in the end. It is an Si so it has it's fun factor, but at the end of the day it's mainly for daily driving. I average close to 120 miles a day. I've still got my E92 M3 as my fun car and since I won't be modding the Civic, that means more $$ for the M.
