Hey if hes right.... by all means lets see the proof. Straight 91 ok lets see it. Until then, words dont matter. In all the performence cars that Ive been involved in, documentation is proof.
Im sure they would have a video of this world record pass. Lets see it.
And again, his turbos are the same turbos that are on the highest mph car right now. Which is 134 on Race Gas, 18inch wheels, drag radials, no exhuast, and who knows what else for weight reduction.
Our car is on 93, 20 inch wheels, stock runflats, full weight.
Thank you.
Yes, the GT-R is shaping to be a very well put together car. Its taking to mods well. It can be taken to the strip, road raced, and still be civil for street driving.Last edited by Wanderer; 07-30-2009 at 05:29 PM.

All this race gas no race gas, full weight, you didn't have the spare in the car etc.... Who cares street car and non street car that's all I care about. If your doing it on pump good for you AMS builds nice stuff always has and Its a great looking car. I will always run race gas at the track when boost is up myself, no reason not to. Put race gas in it and see what it will run!
Dusty's car is a full street car on race gas with exhaust and broke 700hp at the tires, I have seen it with my own eyes. The car has more in it at the track they just haven't run it much yet. The guy that built most of the parts/turbos/intakes etc... on all the top cars regardless what name they run under is the same guy so really any of them is capable of the same times within reason.
BTW Cobb is on the way out. It was the only game in town for a while but with new piggy back stand alones steeping up Cobb will be on the out very soon and everyone will have some real tuning options.

Appreciate your response.
Yes dusty's car is making some good power. No doubt.
Race gas and power isnt the only solution to making fast times. A car has to be setup properly as well... i.e. suspension, wheel choice, tire choice etc.
Hence why I want to max out my pump gas tune first. My next goal is to just add lighter wheels and better tires and hope for the best
And there is a significant difference between our car and MVPs and Jotech- wheels and tires and there is some weight reduction. All those factors will help lower your time.
I will be using race gas eventually. What we did was see what a conservative pump gas tune (normal street driving) without removing weight, whether it be rotational mass or dead weight would get you.
Oh lol
I wasnt sure. Its sometimes hard to tell peoples tones through computersLast edited by Wanderer; 07-30-2009 at 06:56 PM.

Agreed, and glad you didn't take it the wrong way. As you probably know people can get really caught up in diffrent records AKA supra guys! I like to see people push, it furthers the development.
What I was meaning is their are a lot of cars capable of touching the low 10-9s out right now. I see the title being passed back and forth a few times in the very near future and yes there is more to it then power, a lot more!
I have held more then a few world records in my time, some still standing and most with forced induction in a professional arena. I know a little about setup
Congrats on the car and look forward to seeing it come along.

No problem, glad to see we are somewhat both educated when it comes to these discussion. Your right about trading records- when it comes down to it, it will be who is willing to put the most money into these cars and not afraid to take chances.
Thanks for the props.
And btw about the haltech.... Its new and yes it should help us, but after hearing some major negative news about a somewhat well known car, we will be taking our time before we jump on that boat.
I just talked with John from Akuma, the writer of the cobb software, and he will changing/ allowing the cobb unit to tune in greater depth and allow it to run higher levels of boost which should be ready in the next 3-5 months.
But yes, the original is somewhat limiting.
Im sure more companies will be releasing new products in the near future.

I assume your speaking of Haltechs car going south in Australia. It snapped two wrist pins as I was told. Could have very well been detonation, maybe not, supposedly the piston faces and plugs looked fine? I am guessing we will never know what the logs showed. I have a colorful past with the system myself, so I to am a bit on the fence.
Glad to hear Cobb will be opening the software up a bit, good news for everyone. Glad to see some advancements should be made soon getting around all of Nissan's technological hurtles.
Its exciting to see a new platform and advancements everyone is scrambling to unlock. For me working with Pectel and Motech full standalone systems in race cars seams a world away from having to integrate all the systems in a car that interconnected.Last edited by RennTECH CLS; 07-30-2009 at 09:26 PM.

I hear ya!
It seems people want to make alot of power and they want it NOW!
It takes a lot of R&D for quality parts to come out. Thats why I cant understand the rush to all this- especially on this car. I mean think about it, the car has been out just about a year in the U.S. and already its running low 10s with more power still to be unlocked.
Cobb isnt the greatest but its getting the job done and with the improvements it seems to me at this present moment, its the safest thing we have.
I too am used to full standalones like AEM and Motec- Personally I want one of them to jump on this car- to combat both the transmission and motor- then were in business.
I know of the actual haltcech car from Australia that blew, but the car Im talking about is here in the U.S. and a famous one at that. I PROMISED not to disclouse it, but I think shortly it will be known.
I want to actually talk to this person and see what the hell happened because I have a haltech waiting for me at AMS.... now were thinking twice about it.
I know Ecutek should have their ECU out by now.... I really was hopeful that they would step up to plate by the time our GT-R was ready for tuning, but I guess its still not ready.
Haltech actually isnt a true standalone.... more so a piggy backLast edited by Wanderer; 07-30-2009 at 11:24 PM.
