    Default Picking up an FR-S

So if you read my rant about my BMW in the BMW section a while back, you'd know that i've been going through multiple issues with my car since april. Well after taking the car into the shop for the 4th and final time for the sam exact problem and a new one to add to the list about a week and a half ago, I had finally compiled enough evidence to support the fact that my car was a lemon and push harder to get reimbursed and be done with it.

It's been a bit of a tough decision though deciding if I wanted to go with car that gets better gas mileage since i might be commuting for a while or to hop in to something with a fun factor.. I was seriously considering a Civic or a Hyundai Veloster.. I know, I know! dont criticize me but those things will run forever and right now, i need a car that doesn't need to be in the shop ever other week.

Before my BMW I had a Scion xB that I had purchased used with 102,000 miles on it for $6,500 dollars and it didnt have a single issue other than normal oil changes and tires..(you can see where my frustration lies with having to take my BMW in so often) so i decided that i wasn't going to give up all the fun I was having in a nice car just to rid myself of issues i was having with a car.. So since i had such a good run with my previous Scion i decided to place my deposit down and order in a Whiteout FR-S in MT bone stock.. (because thats how a purist plays)

Can't wait to meet my baby girl...

Congrats! They're amazing cars! I'm a little partial to the Subaru myself, but I'm wondering what made you pick up the FR-S? Was it the price difference?

yes, that and a friend of a friend works at scion so he was able to order me in the car with no add ons in the color i wanted and manual. I want it as stock as possible because i can change out the radio with a pioneer unit of my choosing and don't need all the BS.. Most dealers will have some sort of add on for most cars on the lot because they want to make the extra cash that lies in those upgrades. The BRZ also has upgrades that i dont need, as well as a mark up on most of their cars on site from what i've been reading. I cant wait for this thing to come in already! i want to take it to an L4P track day at some point and give it a shot

Congrats - I would consider a BRZ however I love turbo hence STI. With that being said, I'd love to add a G37 coupe, even though they are somewhat humdrum, albeit less problems, vs BMW.

Hmm I've never heard of any major issues with the G37 Coupe. It's a pretty popular car, I've already leased out a couple of them this month. Payments are in the low $300 range so they've been going like hot cakes.

The manual is much, much rarer than the paddle shift version. I found it to be neutral handling, and 200 horses did not go incredibly far...

Congrats, those are sweet cars and I love the way they look. A few car magazines seem to prefer the BRZ, but it also seemed close enough to be a personal preference thing. Also, that sucks about your BMW. My '00 540 has 173,000 miles and has never had a problem except for the stupid plastic radiator.
