Default Bling Thing... Ramis Barquet Gallery - NYC

    See this piece on display:
    Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art
MATRIX 161 / Rashaad Newsome at the Wadsworth's Phoenix Art After Hours.

    Date: Thursday, February 3rd, 2011
    Time: 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Address: 600 Main Street, Hartford, CT 06103

    THE MATRIX 161 PART
Working in collage, sculpture, performance, and video, Newsome combines elements of high society with street culture—mixing classical music with rap music videos and creating traditional coats of arms for hip-hop royalty featuring status symbols like bling, faux fur, designer fashion and customized sports cars. He's like Xhibit for the Art Set. He'll totally pimp your art.

Another great collabo with artist Rashaad Newsome. This piece I personally spent over 50 hours prepping & airbrushing with Candy, Pearl & Metal Flake coatings.

what does he use to make them, they're not wood, they're molded out of some type of plaster, i'm curious

All frames are 17th century neoclassical - originals. The bling items are composite. I prepare them accordingly & then lay the candies
