Default Lionsgate to remake "American Psycho"

Lionsgate to remake 'American Psycho' - Entertainment News, EXCLUSIVE, Media - Variety

IMO, it's too soon. The Christian Bale movie came out in 2000, and he's still extremely relevant. The article states that they wrote the script in modern days vs the '80's, so that might be interesting to see how Bateman relates with current technologies, and what his "must-haves" will be in this version. Not sure I can think of a single actor who might be right for the role.

Ryan Reynolds is too goofy, Ryan Gosling did act quite murderous in Drive, but IDK if I see him as PBateman.

Any one you all could imagine as a modern day Patrick Bateman?

Hollywood needs to give up on horror movies. they are not scary for one, second, most are remakes of originals from decades ago that will never come close to the original. They favor gore over suspense which is why they fail. I never saw american psycho though. is it a remake of Hitchcock's Psycho?

Not in the slightest. It's a Bret Easton Ellis book adapted for a movie. It's not so much a horror movie as a thriller. There is some gore, but it matches the character's personality. It's very, very good. My sister gave me the book to read, she said it's more squicky than the movie even.

I have always been a book person because it leaves more to the imagination (something movies today don't). Last movie I saw in theaters was Star Wars episode III in 05 or 06..... whenever it came out.

Google Bret Easton Ellis - I think you'll be surprised at the number of his titles you recognize. The F/X show Justified is based on stories of his.

^^ i have no idea what you mean by that. I can't say I've ever heard BONE used as a description or exclamation.

I just watched the original again. I don't know how they get to do a remake this early (and the reason why), but seeing that they did a remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Men who hate women) just two years after the original I don't really know what they're thinking!

A remake 11 years after the original? N***a plz...

Aren't there a ton of Brett Easton Ellis books to make a movie out of?
