Just saw "Drive" with Ryan Gosling - Review
This movie had so much potential...but it missed, big time. The first few scenes I was thinking, "Holy shit, this movie is going to sky rocket Ryan's career" only to see that he didn't even say a single line for the first 15 minutes. A brain dead person could've memorized his lines for the entire movie in a single afternoon. The way he portrayed the character was as if he had Asperger's Syndrome, with a single inconsistent scene where he acts normal.
Also, as for car chases? Don't hold your breath. There were two short unimpressive chases, with the second one being utterly boring and absurd.
My grade : C

Movie was amaZing. Until the end. Then it sucked. Alternative ending would have sealed it. It was a very good movie.

It was ok at best, not great, not terrible. The kicker was when we left the theater and my wife said, "that was pretty good, a lot better than expected". Which means it won't live up to most of your expectations if you're looking for action, sex and great driving scenes. Would have been slightly better if Ryan and Carey took it to the bedroom at least once!

I had much higher expectations for this movie. The silent staring was just too much for us, I expected far more DRIVING from a movie called Drive...silly me.

I am glad I saw it but I wouldn't see it twice. The driving wasn't that spectacular and the characters just weren't that believable...but check it out and decide for yourself!

Just left the theater thoroughly dissatisfied. The only redeeming quality of this film was the way it was shot. From the bogus 80's soundtrack, to the pink lettering on the opening credits, to a car chase with a 300c, to awkward stare after awkward stare; Drive loses.
