Default The Wolf of Wall Street: The Movie

I guess this thread might be a little early, but I simply felt about starting this thread. After watching Wall Street 2 for the 4th/5th time over the last couple of days, I only tend to find more things Stone screwed up in the Sequel. I'm in such a desperate need for another Wall Street, another Boiler Room. I liked The Social Network and the overall direction, but the more I watched it, the more it seems like the writer simply didn't get laid that often in college and somehow wanted to portray that in the script. Either way, we need some game changer here. Another Wall Street cult movie, which I could watch 5 times in a row without getting bored and then would be able to spend two nights in a row trying to figure out another way to make some money, because of its motivation.

And here it is (will be): The Wolf of Wall Street
DiCaprio and Scorsese will team up for it and I think it's going to be absolutely amazing. No ugly weirdo female and a weird pseudo business annoying-accent-having male leading role and a bunch of additional crap like in Wall Street 2. One of the writers of Boardwalk Empire will be writing the script + DiCaprio starring and Scorsese directing, I can only imagine this being the new Wall Street or how the sequel should've been. Stocks, Girls, Cocaine, Fast Cars and then losing it all over. The Business Scarface of the 21st Century which I've been waiting for ever since I saw Tony bringing in loads of Cash to Paul Engemann's Push it to the limit.

Scorsese, DiCaprio reteam on 'Wall Street' - Entertainment News, Film News, Media - Variety

P.S. I think it's sad that HBO didn't pick up Ellin's concept of the Hedge Fund version of Entourage. This could've been the next big thing.
But now they let him write the male version of Sex and the City, which will most likely be pretty annoying..

Got the book in the mail the other day and it has has been discussed over here:
THE NEW wolf of wall street is out TODAY!

Repost? There are three or four threads about the book, I even linked one of them.
But there wasn't one about the movie. Or I missed it..

I've read both books also and I'm really anticipating the movie. I read about them making this movie and all the people involved so long ago...I hope it happens sooner than later. It will be fun to watch what Boiler Room should have been in the first place. Boiler Room was (very) loosely based on Jordan Belfort's company as you guys probably know. It's funny that more than a decade later the Agape Ponzi scheme was based very close to Belfort's offices when they existed. I used to see one of Agape's "broker's" driving a gallardo spyder on my way out to work on the LIE. I heard through the grapevine that the broker I used, who had a Conti GT, is now living on a friend's couch.

Yes! Getting the first book has been on my chore list for weeks, just can't find time to get around to it!
Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better.

Haven't read the books either, but I'm ordering it right now. Sounds like a good story.
