I have my times with it. Sometimes it is really good and sometimes I can watch an episode and feel like I've wasted time. But I am clearly hooked and loved the 4th season and if I remember correctly the 3rd was good.

Let me know when Hendrix gets naked and I will check in.
Unless that happens I thinks this series is seriously boring.
At least thats what I can tell from the 6 minutes I watched once.| Some say_ that he's working on his 3rd million since the first 2 didn't work out.

my mom watched them all, i glanced a few times, but there are many better shows to spend your time watching IMO.

I like the show, I don't know what I like about it, but I just do. Maybe its the excessive drinking and smoking.

This is by far one of the best shows on television, IMO. Amazing character development, interesting variety of characters, great acting, great period, great mood/ambience, great everything.
There is a reason it's won best drama at the Emmy's and the Golden Globe's the last 3 years. Not to mention the 50+ nominations, best actor awards, etc. The show is phenomenal. It's not a wham-bam in your face show, sure. But we're grown ups here right?
Plus that's what Entourage is for!
I love Entourage because of it's fun characters and I don't criticize the show too much because it's light hearted. They have this corner of the market down pat. (Although last season was lacking, big time.)
I've somehow suffered through all of Californication and I find it entertaining to some degree but it's not even close for the most part. The horribly weak acting, disjointed plot, and the childish and stupid antics just annoy me.
Give it time to let to the characters all develop and you'll hopefully see what many others have.Last edited by lifeoftheparty.; 01-22-2011 at 11:42 AM.

Awards don't mean much to me either. But when someone calls a great show 'boring' then they can help me to show you're part of the minority.
'Grown means boring?' - I don't know what this means. If you you were referring to when I said 'we're all grown ups', all I meant was that I don't need a show to have everything on the surface and spelled out in simplicity. I can appreciate when shows take the time to develop connotative meaning. I enjoy being an active viewer and can't stand typical shows because of their lack of substance.
You don't care about character development? Huh? This show has a whole bunch of awesome characters and takes time to develop nearly all of them. That's rare.
Sure I like to have some shows that I can just kick back and enjoy for their fun factor. That's what Entourage is for. And others.
The reason I like Mad Men is it's different from your typical show. I don't know what you mean by most people who like Mad Men like it because you have to. I don't get it on my TV without ordering some horrible channel that I don't need. It's really not that deep. It's just got more to it then the rest of the Hollywood junk out there. It has some filmic qualities to it which I love. As university student who has studied film in depth I really appreciate having something transposed to television to give our modern world a sample of some great conventions of film.
I'd encourage you to stick with it. The pace is slower but I really enjoyed the show. If you like Boardwalk Empire (another great show), it's pacing is similar. It takes some time to feel vested in the characters."Whatever you're thinking, think bigger." - Tony Hsieh
