No disrespect to Tanner himself (I like his driving and he seems like a nice enough guy) BUT every show he touches is shit. He just isn't a good TV personality and neither are the other hosts on this show.
I really hope they re-think their whole strategy next season. This whole thing with them doing the same exact challenges the UK guys did 5+ years ago is getting old.

You have to think though...for the average American that doesn't watch Top Gear (original) this could actually be 'entertainment'....maybe.
I hosted my family Christmas at my house this year and had the Top Gear U.S. challenge (think cow on a roof) playing in the living room. My brothers liked it, as did my parents. However my dad did say "they hate Americans...heck, everyone hates us" when they made certain comments. Those are things that I totally didn't think of and overlooked for the sake of comedy.
Maybe this watered down copy meant for US audiences is what was ordered...

I could go into the hosts not being up to par, but the bar has been set so ridiculously high. I don't think Tim Allen, Jay Leno and occasionally Danica Patrick as The Stig in a bikini would ever come close.--> Joe C. <--
