They should. What's that old saying...one monkey don't stop no show.
I really liked the movie. There were moments I thought there was too much Bruce Wayne but it was necessary to this movie.
Loved Bane because he brought an element the Joker couldn't. Joker wanted to outwit Batman. Bane wanted to outwit Batman but also had the physicality to kick his butt.
I'm kinda glad Nolan is done. I didn't like the idea he established that Batman wouldn't do whatever is necessary to defeat evil....meaning, he wouldn't cause the death of anyone, including the most evil person on the planet. While I don't think Batman should kill anyone I do think criminals should believe death is a possibility if they piss Batman off too much. Jail is a deterent to law abiding citizens. Criminals are accustomed to it. Fear is part of what makes Batman the Dark Knight.
I mostly liked Catwoman. Didn't like the bisexual image portrayed. I know it is part of society but many kids will see this movie and that should not be there.Last edited by Ice350; 07-23-2012 at 01:04 AM.

Just got back myself. I had the shootings on my mind the entire time. there were a couple hostage scenes that made me clench my chair and check the exit door. I could not understand a word bane was saying or the old guys in the prison and it was waaaaaaaaay too long. Other than that it was okay. LOL Oh yes, and it is really LOUD in Imax.

For those who saw the prologue during The Avengers I think it was, and paid attention during the movie, will notice they changed Banes voice A LOT from the first cut. Nolan and company must have taken the audiences issues, and cranked up the volume. At some points, it was a bit overbearing. I personally felt I could understand him just fine when the prologue was released.

i don't think this is just nolan's thinking--he's keeping in line with batman/bruce wayne's ethos. joker welcomed death at the hands of batman--even encouraged it because it was the only rule batman had. so whoever takes over will probably have to keep that in line lest they betray the character.
i hope they don't make more, although i understand the cash cow waiting if they do. i can't see additional movies made with this story line without diluting the effect. robin isn't a strong enough character to carry a movie on his own, and bringing him with batman takes the focus away from batman.

The John Blake character(robin), was never meant to be the sidekick, and If they feed off of nolans story line, he will be the new batman. Bale said long ago, if Robin ever came into the picture, he'd be long gone.
If you want to get into symbolism, the title of the movie is The Dark Knight Rises. The ending scene shows Blake wading through the water in the bat cave, then triggering the pod to RISE, then it fades to black. foreshadowing that Blake is Wayne's successor.

I mentioned it in the Superman thread in the OT forum. But it seems like there's some long range planning to set up an epic Superman crossover into an adaptation of Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" masterpiece. Greatest Batman story arc ever, especially if they stay fairly true to the character development........

Holy shit. All I have to say. haha. I just got back from it and it was bittersweet for me. It was bitter because the fact the Batman series is dead and that saddens me.
lol. Anne Hathaway was GORGEOUS as Catwoman and the bisexual part I was a little surprised to see, but I welcomed it
The Robin foreshadowing has me on the edge of my seat. What could they possibly do next? It was nice to see Bruce lived, but I think the couple could go and fight on their own and make quite a story off of that. Overall I really loved the film, and in my theater (non IMAX) I could hear everything Bane said just fine.
