There is no way that 'loft' is only 1 container. Once you cut the walls you lose their structural integrity, and thus their $ advantage.
Alot of those are not standard containers.
Regardless I've been following this movement for a long time and have been playing around with some ideas...

I think the Dutch are the ones with the most experience in building modern functional container homes. With some large mass projects being used as student accommodations. And naturally containers are a popular home building medium in the 3rd world as well.

No they put regular roofs on them, and the insides are generally finished like any normal house or building with gyprock and mud. So they effectively look, sound, and feel like a regular home from the inside, it's only the outside where the sheet metal siding is really apparent. In fact many supposed container homes are in fact regular homes with pieces of container stuck on the outside to give the appearance of a container home. But in fact they're more new build homes than re-used container.
