Looking for a new pair of glasses... suggestions?
So, I snapped my pair of Prada frames today when I was wearing my prescription sunglasses around. I had them in a hard case, don't know how I did it, but either way maybe it was just their time to go.
The reason that I am asking for suggestions is I am well aware of the different quality levels amongst eyewear producers. I remember some time ago about a discussion relating to most 'fashion' eyewear companies having all of their frames made by the same manufacturer. And well, basically, I am going to try and stay away from the major conglomerates this time around. Make sense? No?
Any suggestions as per companies to look for would be appreciated. I don't mind buying online either, as I know what my prescription is.
As far as a style cue goes, this is similar to what I have been wearing recently.

Thanks guys.

recently i was in the search for new glasses as well. personally, i wouldn't go with that Oliver Peoples stuff or that pseudo-designer drek at Saks Fifth Avenue..i know you don't want the commercial conglomerate stuff, so check these out:
Cutler & Gross
DeromeBrenner
Linda Farrow (if you want something very very "fashion")
Mykita (nice sunglasses especially, very popular now, if not a bit trendy)
Oliver Goldsmith
Reiz
Salt.Optics (a little more universal, in my opinion)
Strada del Sole (nice, a little unconventional...my choice for glasses)
good quality and a bit off the well-worn path.Last edited by normying; 10-29-2009 at 06:11 PM.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Those Raen ones are quite nice, never heard of them either. I ended up not being able to find any of those in my area though when I was searching so I just grabbed some Giorgio Armani ones.
