Default Owner Reviews of 2nd Gen CTS-V?

    Hey guys,

New to the forum, there is some GREAT information surrounding certain vehicles, and its good to be around people who own some really nice cars. I'm considering picking up a 09+ CTS-V sedan to better conform with my job. I'm in IT Sales, so I have to take CIO's to lunch, etc. Currently I drive a built 2010 Camaro 2SS. It's not exactly ideal for customer meetings. This will be my first "larger" purchase outside of my house after getting out of college, as i'm only 23. I want to make sure I check into all the pros and cons of going with this vehicle. Are there any known issues or complaints with it? This will be my daily driver.

I appreciate all the comments and information. For fun, feel free to throw in pictures! it's a beautiful car, and I never get tired of seeing them.

    Thanks,

    Adam

I think the only real con is the poor gas mileage. I'm currently only averaging in the neighborhood of 13.4.

    Darnell,

Do you ever come back to Little Rock/Arkansas at all? I'd be interested in taking a ride with you if you'd be willing? No one I know owns one here to go for a ride. Is yours stock still?

    Thanks,

I was wrong, it's getting 14.3 and averaged 18.6 on a 150 mile trip I took today. I should be in Little Rock in a couple weeks, but don't know if the car will still be stock by then.

    Hi,

    new to the site myself.

I recently picked up a 2012 V Wagon. I love it, but I would have to agree on mpg. I have had mine about a month now and although I have less than 1000 miles on it, I have gone through a tank in as little as 2 days just from "spirited" driving around town. Other than that, it's great. Inexpensive to get more HP as well. With just a pulley, intake, and exhaust it's putting down over 530HP to the wheels and WAY more fun to drive. I too came from a 2010 Camaro SS that was making about 650HP. The Camaro was cool, but the Caddy.....well it's a Caddy....a quick one.

Only downfall is the mpg. Stock was pretty bad and now after Hennessey I only get 6mpg. Don't regret it one bit though. Awesome ride!

Haha I agree with the bad mpg... although i don't know how everyone is getting better mpg than i do. I average 9.7 mpg ... maybe i need to stop driving like an Asshole ... but it's sooo hard in this car. I have a 2009 Sedan and i love it. i have 16,000 miles on it and i do Semi-conductor sales and take customers out in it all the time. Let us know if you pick one up. You'll have a blast in it!

I don't even know what I'm getting. I try not to look. All I know is in the short time I've had it, I've been to the gas station A LOT. Pretty much what I expected.

Luckily, my company pays for gas. Right now my camaro gets about 16mpg, so not too shabby comparatively speaking, but still crap imo. I'm looking at a red one right now, but when I went to test drive it, of course they won't let you drive it, only ride, and it looked a little ragged out. We'll see what it looks like when they get it cleaned up. Also, if anyone is interested, the camaro is for sale for 27k.

    Thanks!

I've heard of the early 2nd Gen V's having oil seal issues with the blower snout.
