Hi guys, first post here.
I bought a 1969 Camaro this past spring. I was getting married over the summer and for our honeymoon we were going to take a road trip through parts of the States. Fr the past couple of years my interest in pro touring cars gradually was increasing and one thing led to another and we both agreed that a road trip in a classic muscle car would be an unforgettable experience - and it was - in a good way.
We drove a decently restored 1969 Camaro about 2500 miles and it was pretty damn rock solid. Save for a loose exhaust and a leaking valve cover gasket the car came through with flying colors. I really need to blog about the trip, it was pretty epic.
Don't expect even the best restored muscle car to handle and drive like a new car unless you get one with serious suspension modifications. But the truth is they aren't all that bad either and the experience on the open road is second to none.
The other thing you should know is be ready to attract a lot of attention. We were completely blown away at the attention the car attracted everywhere we went. We even had a Brinks truck use their loudspeaker on the highway to tell us how cool the car was! The conversations struck up in gas stations were never ending and the head turning was constant. I really don't believe any modern car would attract that level of attention.

if you gonna drive it often.. and hard... you will need modern parts. Then later down the line when you are looking to resale... Make sure you kept all the stock parts so you can rebuild it back to stock when ready to sell. I myself will eventually build an old school muscle car but I will do a resto mod. If i am going to keep a car for that long.. it better be exactly what I want.

watch the auctions on TV and see what cars are doing good and what has still yet to hit its "peak"
