Right I understand that deduction fine BUT when the 996 GT2 was launched in 2002 it was one of the fastest production cars in the world

Unless the GT500 is one of the best performing cars in the world when launched, it's no supercar.

EXACTLY! They are good cars, well built, definitely fast, but supercar is not a description a mustang can be given

Mustangs are not that cool nor that fun to be honest. The new GT was not that fun to drive like compared to a 370z. My 2 cents.

This thread should have ended a long time ago... The mustang is FAST, but its a far from a supercar. I would barely consider it a sports car. I have about 6,000 miles of seat time in a 2007 GT500. This one made 527hp at the wheels. While it was cool to drive all it did was go fast straight, if it got traction. The build quality speaks for its self. It was built by someone who has never heard of the word perfection.

I had a chance to get the car as a gift and turned it down, because I didn't want to be caught in the car anymore. I stuck with an Orange VW GTI, which btw worked the GT500 in autocross.

Bottom line. the mustang is not a supercar. Its a RWD car that has some power, thats it
