Default Tesla Model S US Prices Start at $ 57,000

Ever since the production ready Model S was shown at CES 2011 at the beginning this year, we were waiting on news when the first deliveries would take place. It now seems we will have to be patient for another year. Tesla plans to produce 5,000 units in 2012 before going full-tilt in 2013 with a 20,000 vehicle production run.

Wow, the center console on this thing is insane! It stretches from the top of the dash all the way down.

price is pretty steep and i am sure it'll be raised before delivery.

i am a big fan of electric cars. they are virtually maintenance free. however, they don't last in the long run.

mainstream electric cars will need to be under $30k. i hope tesla finds a premium market to help us reduce oil consumption.
