Default 1000 HP Shelby GT 500 E Super Snake by Revved Auto Concepts

Update on this project guys. This was a landmark week for Revved Auto Concepts. We took our first Shelby GT 500 E Super Snake upgraded with our V7, Intercooled, EFI package to the dyno. The results were right on the mark with what we were planning for.

When we received this vehicle it was barely running and the engine was knocking due to the last shop that "tuned" it. The engine was rebuilt, the suspension was gone through, we added our oil cooler package, replumbed the fuel system, and upgraded the cooling system as part of our standard upgrade package. With our work on previous Super Snakes we found that the original Vortech supercharger was undersized for the engine once we removed the restrictions as we lost boost. The owner of this vehicle was interested in prototyping a system with a larger supercharger, an intercooler, and the FAST sequential fuel injection system to see what the potention of the engine combination could be. The entire supercharger and intercooler system was hand fabricated; it fits within the GT 500E body work and is completely flanged and servicable (everything bolts in and bolts out.) We fabricated a new supercharger bracket and supercharger belt system for the larger V7 head unit. It also received our hand fabricdated 3" Super Snake exhaust system- also compeltely flanged for service and ceramic coated after fabrication. Our goal was 1000hp with 15 lbs of boost and completely street drivable. Our first pulley hit 15lbs of boost at half throttle and the car was violently undrivable on the street so we slowed down the supercharger and ended up with 12lbs at 6000 rpm so there is much more availabe but with this being a street driven car we wanted it to be an easy working engine for longevity.

We knew this car would put down some big numbers from the way it drove but the dyno tells the rest of the story. 771 horsepower 718 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels. On the road this car is like driving on ice over half throttle. It will spin the 11" rear tires on the highway in 4th gear and pulls like a freight train if you can keep it hooked up.

    It's been a good day.

It looked like this when it arrived:

How it looked when it was (mostly) done:

    And how it ran:

1967 Shelby GT 500 E Super Snake. 75 were slated to be built as Shelby Continuation vehicles. Only 32-34 were actually completed. We have 2 more in process for our "Super Car" package like this one. Next one will probably be more powerful than this one as it received CNC ported cylinder heads with larger valves, and CNC ported EFI intake manifold. It's going to be interesting.

Boost levels are talked about in the original text. Our original goal was 15, first pulley was way over that so we repullied and ended up with 12 at full tilt. The engine has way more potential in it but this is a safe streetable setup.

Believe it or not... I actually have a non-Mustang project in process right now. It's actually a really fun project- it started as a complete departure from what we normally do but of course snow balled. I'll post up a thread on it at some point here with more details.
