Default My new beater Project "UrbanMax" LBZ 4x4 2500HD Silverado

    Hey all,

Thought I would throw up some pics of the latest beater I picked up. I needed something that could not only tow a car trailer, but also a Fountain powerboat when needed, yet still have room for my lady and friends if needed. Needed 4x4 for the winter and the steep boat ramps, and wanted something I could...>TURN UP! So the duramax was the obvious answer.

Most people I know run out and get a 6-9" lift kit for these trucks first weekend they have them. Well since I live in Kansas City, and spend a LOT of my time downtown, I figured why not make it look cool, and actually fit in a parking garage. LOL.

    So here she is.....

Slammed 3.5" in the front, and 7" in the rear.
    Still retains the 4x4,
Custom C Notched the frame in the rear.
Full suspension travel and stock springs are retained. (for towing)
EFI Live tuned ECU by myself
    5" Turboback exhaust to a 6" tip
    KN filter.
Body Colored the Mirrors, Moldings, Door Handles and bumper tops.
Removed the silly door rub strips and badges.
1500 Silverado Mirrors, and no cab lights.

Pretty mild mods but still knocks down 20mpgs, and rocks 800rw ft lbs of TQ on the dyno.
Its fun that everyone thinks its a 1500 now, until they either hear it, or play with it.

Can't wait to do more to it!
    EA

**Sorry for the cell phone pics, hopefully I can get some better ones this weekend**

Not many choices in 8 lug wheels. Either chrome or black it seems.
I hate chrome, so that wasn't even an option. Everyone around here runs either BOSS or KMC wheels, so I wanted to be a little different.

And didn't want to spend crazy money on them, since they are on a daily thrasher/work truck. I put the nice wheels on my Caddy, and the MB.

PS: You suck, cause you own an E30 M3 I want one bad.

I won't tell you how many miles are on it then.... it gets used!

I think most people would die if they knew how many it had. However keeping it clean, and keeping the front bumper painted, and the headlights and fog lenses replaced keeps her looking fresh.

Bump and respect for a fellow oil-burner. I've got a '98.5 Ram 2500 CTD that pulls like a freight train and I've been super tempted to get the Banks PowerPack for it...

LOL, well I've got 211k on my beater, old cclb Chevy. And it truly is a beater, shopping carts, bushes, curbs, doesn't matter they all get out of the way.

I'm a big fan, great job. I do think it would benefit from some sportier less blingy wheels, but I know 8 lug selection is minimal.
