Talk me in or out of this Cadi sLeD project?!!
Okay so on of my dream sLeDs is a 40s-50's Cadi..... Chopped, Bagged, etc...
This one is supposedly about 50% finished, w/ chop already done... #matching car (which doesn't really matter to me though)
Thoughts, opinions, red flags, questions to ask, things to watch out for....?
and NOPE, never taken on a project like this before but I don't plan on doing the work myself anyways....
Current condition:

Rough rendering of finished project.... (colors, wheels, etc.... will be dif)

Do it, thats a dream project. In my opinion any one can put cash down and drive out with a Lambo or Ferrari but these projects are personal and worth while. Good Luck and cant wait to see what you come up with.

Go 4 it...give it a good going over..have a small magnet handy and use it to check for body puddy. Take a good look at the frame and under the body for rust holes. Look at Hemmings Motor New, Ebay or HotRodHotLine to compare the prices before pulling the trigger. Just get it into your mind that it will be a long term project . Good luck

From someone who does this 6-7 times a year, you better have a huge wallet. Something as simple as custom glass for that chop can run you thousands. Expect to pay 40-50K to get to your finished rendering and don't pay more than $1500 the way it sits now.

Like Caddilac said make sure that you get it bought right. A few years ago you had to pay a good amount of money for a project car. These days they are worth very little. The 56 Buick wagon I am doing I am into it for a little over 7K just for bags, white walls, and labor to get the stock motor running good. I have spent some unnecessary money because I wanted some specific things but cash flys out the window on these cars. I haven't done any body or interior work and have completely stock running gear.
