Junked? Hardly. Ok, they've been sitting indoors for 20 years, so they aren't immediately drivable, but they are far from junked. Everything there, at least the '53 through the '72, is worth restoring, from a financial point of view.
As for "its worth whatver somebody is willing to pay for it", that is true of every used car in the world, from a '09 Veyron to a '75 Pinto to a '61 250GT SWB.
The fact that these are "VH1 Giveaway" Corvettes, or "Peter Max" Corvettes, is indeed irrelevant, unless Peter Max actually completes the project and paints them. Then they become art and, regardless of what you or I think of that art, that will have an effect on their value to a certain segment of the market.'64 Meyers Manx

How do these cars just lay dormant? I see new cars just beyond the fence. Surely someone must of thought, I should see if he wants to sell them.

a lot of those cars are far from junk. yea they wont fire right up but it wouldnt take much to get them back on the road. look past the dirt and a lot of those cars are in great shape. couple days with a pressure washer and a rotary and ill be damned if couldnt get a lot of those looking great!
