Seriously, I enjoy a mustang but 65-70k or more come on! The idea of the mustang was a decent performance sports car for a decent everyday price.
03-246 making a one time post to link and pump up a company that is not a board sponser will bring the ban hammer pretty quick around here as its against the forum rules!

Those cars aren't even close to being production ready yet. Many of the parts are still having the tooling built. . . but you didn't hear that from me.

Funny you say that--- I had already scrolled back up to see if he was banned yet.

I remember when the 00R's came out and everyone had a coronary over the 54K window sticker; and then fell over when it came out that the dealers were auctioning them off for $150k.
Saleen has had some rought times over the last few years. From the outside it seems like Steve got bored building "regular" Mustangs and wanted to move on to something bigger and better so he got into the Supercar world with the S7 and got a taste of that world and wanted to do that full time with SMS. From what I understand he sold out Saleen to a group a few years back and they ran it into the ground about a year ago. As said above- it appears they lost touch with their audience- too much flash and $$ not enough appeal where Roush has really taken off with their grassroots marketing to the hotrod world with crate engines, racing sponsorships, and NASCAR. And after a few year hiatus while shuffing SVT, Ford has gotten back in the game with the GT500 (I still want them to bring back the new gen Lightning they were showing off!) Now that they went belly up it's good to see him taking care of his long time customers- he has announced that SMS will honor the existing warranties of the Saleen products on the road and a new company has bought out the assets of the failed Saleen company to service the existing customers.
Good luck to them!Last edited by Sean1; 07-24-2009 at 02:36 PM.

Not bad. Don't really care for the rear end...
For that price I wouldn't get it though..."Champions are made from something they have deep inside them a desire, a dream, a vision. They have to have the skill and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill. " Muhammad Ali

What's the point of an order guide when you don't even have a prototype to show in the flesh? These are clearly renderings. I hope Steve can pull things together quickly and get some of these cars on the road soon. I saw renderings of the new Saleen 435s and it's just a stripe and spoiler job with the old Dan Gurney Edition wheels and a supercharger. Hopefully SMS can can carry on the spirit of the sexy and sophisticated Saleen Mustang even if he can't call it that...
