The original owner has a TON of cars. He is a super awesome laid back guy and has a ton of cool companies. He actually wrote a few hockey books and followed me in my playing days when I was supposed to go pro............. We just ran intoeachother in the car game and my name stuck out!

I cannot express how sad and disappointed I am at this very moment. A local guy was gracious enough to let me come by tonight to check out his SPF GT40. First impression. "Wow, that's a small car." Managed to climb into it (sans the steering wheel. Would be difficult, but not impossible to get in with it on). Pedal box is TINY. My feet were crammed together. Couldn't bring my foot to the clutch without jamming my knee into the dashboard. $hit. Closed the door. No head room to spare. I had to slouch down a bit in the seat to clear the roof.

The drive: jumped in the passenger seat. Didn't know it was about a 60/40 split. Passenger seat was more cramped. Only way to get my legs and feet in the footwell was to keep them bolt straight. Okay, I wouldn't be spending any time in the passenger seat anyway

He starts up this monster. Never heard a sound so beautiful than a 427 churning up. He previously replaced the rear plexiglass with glass and said it dampened the noise considerably. What?!?!? It was LOUDER than this??

Pull out. Seemed pretty drivable at low speeds (of course, never got out of second on the local streets). Found some good open straights and he PUNCHED it. Holy crap. I shat myself. Pure brutal acceleration. After about 10 minutes in the car, you could feel the heat blasting from the engine behind our heads. Driving this in the middle of the day here in Phoenix would be....uncomfortable to say the least, and the air con was on. And yes, it does blow cold surprisingly well.

We get back and I'm smiling ear to ear but also a bit distraught. Perhaps a bit too 'raw' for me. Then he opens up his garage and has a white/blue stripe Ford GT. Pulley, tune, exhaust. Putting down around 730. Awww, come on man! I hop in the passenger seat. Yes, definitely a modern car. Comfortable, 'relatively' quiet. Just as brutally fast.

I hate life right now. GT40 is out. Sorry, J. But if I run into 150 large, I'll be in the market for a FGT.

Someone buy this car from Jason. It really would be a fun car. Unfortunately not for me.

After putting about 6000 miles on a Ford GT most of them during the Gumball 3000. I am a HUGE fan of the cars. Comfortable even after 12-14 hours in the seat, reliable, quick and oh so fun to light up the rear tires!!! No cup holders, not much room for luggage but when driving one of these you make do. My wife and I have taken the GT on a few out of town weekends and love it. The ability to putt around town then to cruise at triple the speed limit... priceless.
