Default Shelby / Ford Mid America Meet in Tulsa, OK

Had a great trip at the end of last week- I took a drive up to Tulsa, OK to hang out with my buddies from Gessford Machine at the Shelby / Ford Mid-America meet. I hung out at the Shelby trailer for a bit where Gessford was displaying their brushed aluminum body Cobra. Got to see the new 2010 Super Snake, their new GT package, and some other toys. Ran into some Hawaiians that shipped their cars out to cruise the mainland and got to talk plate lunch shops back home. Got to watch some late model and vintage Ford racing! It was a quick trip as I had to be back home by Saturday afternoon for the kids' birthday party but it was a great time! Here are some pics!

    Shelby Trailer

Hand Brushed, Aluminum body Cobra 427FE with FAST XFI system on a Kinsler stack injection intake

    New Shelby GT V8 Package

    Sweet GT 40

2010 Super Snake. Not a fan of the wheels but the car looks absolutely beautiful.

Immaculate Ford Falcon- Yes this guy ran it on the road course!!

Carroll Was there!! This year was special as it was the 50th anniversary of his wins at Lemans!

The paint on this '68 GT500 was probably the best I have seen on a non show car in a VERY long time. Body work was perfect and the paint was like it was dipped in molten glass.

    Late model Mustang love

I got to meet some really great people at this event. Everyone seemed to be there just to have fun... no show car attitude- these guys were DRIVING their vintage cars hard on the track and loving every minute of it.

I think my friend Kei drove there with his wife. Hardcore cobra guy from Oahu. They made the trip last year also with another friend from Hawaii with his Daytona. They were feeling nostalgic and wanted to take Route 66 to Tulsa.

One of these years I may take that route too.

    Thanks for posting.

I talked to Kei for about 20 minutes!! He was one of my Hawaiians- and I met his friends Grace and (I cant remember her husband's name- he was running off to see the cars). His friends shipped their 08 Shelby over from the islands and are doing a 6 week vacation- Cali, Tulsa, Wisconsin, and then Washington state I think it was.

Kei is awsome! Tell him you know me next time you see him!

There was a grabber blue Pantera out there also- I saw it on the track but didn't see it in the pits to get pics for you.

Kei knows a lot of people, it's amazing.

If I tell him I know you, will he still talk to me after?

We'll be meeting up with him in Monterey for the Historics Weekend after our driving trip to Vancouver. It should be fun.

Looks like a cool meet. It's funny to see the excited look on the kids face getting Carroll's autograph.

    Awesome pics!
