I would love a chance to drive one. From everything i've heard it is just so raw. Pure power blasting down the road just inches from the pavement. I've always loved the GT40 and the Daytonas for the look
I've done a short drive in a Cobra (not sure if it was a kit or a replica) but it didn't do anything for me. It was only powered by a warmed over 5.0 and too akward to drive at 6'-1''

A 5.0 just won't cut it. I rode a Factory Five with a stock 5.0. It didn't do much for me either. Then I had Michael Ramies drive my car (347 cid) for me while I sat in the passenger side. He's the ONLY person so far to drive it besides me and the experience is much different than the 5.0L (with only 225-250HP with mods.) But like you, it didn't do much for him because he races at such higher speeds!!!
It's all relative I guess.
Basically, you need something that has at least the original 425HP that the original Cobra's had. My 347 comes close at 355RWHP (translates to about 419HP flywheel I think) but made up for with 385RWTQ (translates to 439 ft-lbs. flywheel.)
But I know guy's with 500-600hp motors in their Superformance. Let's just say nothing passes with this much authority on the freeway than big-cubed Cobra's. The downside is, top speed is harder to achieve since these are nothing less than flying bricks down the freeway. The GT40 was designed with 200mph in mind.
