That Mini is pretty creative......I could not possibly rock it but its cool.
I love that area. Stayed at that hotel and spent WAY too much time in the moscone!

I promise SJ will be better this next year 289 ... well it better be because my car will be there and I need something to look at! I have never been impressed with nissans displays and with most of detroit and much of the other brands pulling out of the show curcuit to cut costs I am afraid to say auto shows are goiing to be a dying breed for the next 2-3 years. Even detroit is going to be a bastardised version of itself this year! ferrari, Land Rover, Audi, Aston, and many other have all pulled out with more to follow. For those of us who work in the automotive industry it is a pretty crazy and bit scary.

I wouldn't necessarily rule out shows completely. I've been going to the SF Show since I earned a drivers license back around 77'. Back then, it was held in a smaller location called Brookes Hall near the main City Hall rotundra in San Francisco. I remember the first time I went there and left impressed with the number of cars there (and this was at a time when the luxury brands had not existed yet - Lexus, Infinity and Acura.) Fiat, Alpha Romeo, Lancia, and Opel were still selling cars in the US.

This was of course, the time of the OPEC Oil Embargo and Rev.A.1 of the 5mph bumper-warts. Exotics were limited to things like Alpina BMW's, the Lamborghini Countach, and 308GTB's.

Yes, the embarbo put a damper on things but it never extinguished the show. During this 3rd recession during my lifetime, I think it's just a repeat of 30 years ago. I think it'll get better a few years from now. I just remembered that Tesla didn't show up ...
