By the way, Atoms have been offered with several different power train packages over the years. In the USA, the two options are, the Honda/Acura RSX engine and transaxle and, the GM ecotec supercharged (Cavalier) engine and transaxle.

For tires to reach optimum grip, you need to balance contact patch with vehicle weight. The Atom runs a narrow looking tire because the car is so light. Remeber, these things weigh 1350 Lbs, thats less than half the weight of a Scuderia.

like i said i know wider isnt always better.. i guess for 1350 they are somewhat wide...
what are your thoughts on them selling some with AVS ES100's?
the others came with R888's i believe
the ES100 dont even grip on my ex's 3000lb 120hp car in a straight line... on the ariel i could just imagine :-(
very sad combination.. whoever @ yoko sold that deal to ariel should be shot..

I'm not sure why they chose Yokahamas as the OEM tires. The good thing is, the tire sizes are 205/15 front and 225/16 rear, so there are lots of good tires available and they won't cost a fortune.
