A guy driving one in a parking lot today told me it's the only production car to ever break 200 MPH straight out of the dealer... Then people wonder when I tell them I dislike modern Mustangs, this is one example of the many similar ones I have encountered.

Hopefully he meant first production car from America to break 200mph straight from the dealer....I mean, he'd still be wrong...but a less blatantly stupid wrong. You know the ridiculous arguments that Viper/Corvette breeds between owners and fanboys...yeah, now throw the Mustang guys into that mix.

That's why I hate claims about cars, our car can hit 205 are you ever really going to get 205 probably not maybe 195-201, not referring to anything specific just always seems to happen with cars now wish it was more like the 60's when you said it could do 140 and it would really do 160

Interesting article. It really points out what is realistic performance. When car companies go and test the absolute maximum speed their car can do, they use an easy 5 miles of road to do so. They Veyron, including the SS, takes forever to reach its top speed at a track where you can enter the straight at over 200 MPH. Realistic top speed is something you can hit from a rolling start at an airstrip. If you were to close down the Overseas Highway in Florida (that goes to the Keys) you could probably take the 2013 GT500 to its top speed. But I can't imagine how expensive the permit to do so would be. I wouldn't be shocked if $15K for a few hours was enough. LOL.

If that Cuda did hit 200, it had A LOT more power than a new Mustang, they said over 1000 HP. Plus, they didn't show any evidence that it went 200 MPH. BS claim unless you have the evidence to back it up. I'm sure they actually hit 200 MPH, but you can't just say you went 200.
