Default 2012 CTS-V coupe 0-100MPH Blast onto the highway

Awesome, awesome car. I still think I'd take an M3 over it though

I would take a manual over that slushbox V. Those Cadillacs are amazing cars and offer that true luxury/muscle sedan feel no other car can. Coming from an E60 M5.

BTW, its not in the M3's class. Its a bigger and heavier and iirc actually outperforms it.

Well Ive driven the E93 M3, and To be honest I liked the sound and looks of the car WAY more, plus the equivalent tranny in the M3 seems much quicker and more responsive than in the CTS. The M3 is also absolutely gorgeous, and im not a fan of the looks on the CTS-V coupe. The CTS's interior was gorgeous though. What was your opinion?

CTS-V all day. Makes way more power, transmission is on point, has great suspension, looks stunning, AMERICAN, and you can squeeze even more power out of it with $1,000 worth of work. It would take $25,000 to get the same power out of a E92.

Even more....like 100hp with a pulley and tune.

I will give the BMW this, as an everyday all around performer you won't be disappointed, with the V you'll never be bored.

This. Lots of mods for the CTS-V to get more power. The magnetic ride control suspension (MRC) is truly innovative.

But if you want an M3 certainly get that.

IMO the cts-v feels really heavy and big when driving around in normal situations, while the m3 always feels light and nimble. Ive never owned either of these cars, but i test drove both and thats wat i got out of it.

I've only driven the cts-v sedan but it is definitely a monster but it's way more refined and less engaging than the m3. Same thing with the c63. The V just lacks some of that race feeling in the steering and suspension. The other thing is I could never live with the sunroof cover that looks like some drapery. Don't get me wrong the V is a fantastic car but when it came down to what I'd drop my 70-80k on it would be the m3 or c63 before it was the V

To be fair (like I said) the E90 weighs about 3700lbs while the V tips in around 4200 IIRC (500+lbs!). The V is supposed to be M5 competition, it just happens to be able to demolish the M3 in just about every category as well. Apples to oranges in comparison on size, as well as fit and finish. One is the design trend setter while the other has traveled light years to catch up.
