Default My Build: Girly Twin Turbo

Wasn't sure whether to put this here or in the import section, but I figured the Dodge label warranted posting in this section

My 1991 Stealth R/T Twin Turbo. I inherited this car from my dad after he passed away in 2007. It was kind of just sitting in a corner of the garage for the last few years without a drivetrain, not really sure what to do with it. My boyfriend surprised me by putting it together last summer for me.

He then surprised me with a few... girly bits.

We put it down for the winter, and decided this year... well, a few pink pieces just wasn't enough... the powdercoater has become our new best friend.

    Brake calipers

Rear Subframe, rear trailing arms, and front steering knuckles

I just dropped off all of my front subframe pieces yesterday, and will be dropping off my Tein Springs this afternoon to be refinished in hot pink as well

Front subframe pieces Before: (will have finished pictures in a few days)

I had to offset the hot pink a little bit, so, I had my Volk TE37's powdercoated in pearl white to match my car

So, with all of this pink going on... We opted for a little boost in power.

My "new" engine going together. Forged Pistons, Forged Rods, Forged Crankshaft

    Oversized Valves, ported heads

And we opted for a set of bolt-on billet turbos, so I will be able to run the stock heat shields. It will look 100% bone stock from the exterior. It's a factory housing turbo, machined with a billet wheel.... They're fun

We have an upgraded dual side mounted intercooler set-up going in as well. The piping is pretty rough right now, but that will be something we have to go back and fix later on, we have 3 weeks until an event out in Indy, and we need to have this finished, tuned, and ready to run before we leave on the 18th.

We wanted to keep it as close to an original looking turbo set-up as possible.

I'll update as we move along, engine is coming together nicely, and hopefully we will have enough time to re-spray the engine bay while we have everything out, it's pretty dingy right now.

Nice, I have always liked the Stealths and 3000GTs.

Wonderful project/mods. Will show my lady this thread & hope she will want to do up her ride besides the pink STI emblems.

    AAAANNNNDDD GO!

We leave for our event on Monday Jun 18th. 7 days to rip the current set-up out, paint the engine bay/under the hood (swap front bumper and fender), install my new set-up (still need to finish assembling the engine and transmission), new subframes front and rear (with new rear aluminum subframe bushings), flashable ECU set-up, new suspension, and tune it. (we are also leaving for TN tonight, and won't be back in town until Monday) Should be fun...

Spur of the moment decision to install the diffuser I've had laying around for the last few years

Bumper cut, and rough test fit, then off to the body guy for final finishing
