    Can't tell if serious...

And yes, there is at least 2 threads discussing this. Your "what do you think" question has been answered multiple times

I'm sorry, but you've got to be kidding. Straight six turbo's are iconic. The BMW straight six twin turbo was crowned 2008 International Engine of the Year by a panel of 65 automotive journalists from 32 countries. The v8 twin turbo is just brilliant and step in the right direction IMO. As far as the "shitty" sound, I think the sound of turbo's spooling is one of the sexiest noises known to man.

Either way get used to it because all the German cars (along with many others) are going with forced induction. More power, better control over emissions, and better on gas. This is a no brainer...

The 8.4 liter NA motor in the Viper is cool, it's the epitome of everything American (Big, Powerful, Excessive, Wasteful), but it's the last of a dying breed.

Nevermind, don't care that much. I was already in this thread so figured someone would reply with the answer.

I'm selling my 2008 Viper now (see the classifieds) in order to get either an ACR or a 2013. At this point, I'm leaning towards the ACR. I was at the press reveal (sitting right behind Mr. Ralph Gilles himself!), but I gotta say the new car doesn't make me drool like the ACR does. Having said that, the new one is hard to ignore. I'd be willing to sacrifice a little "gotta have it" factor for a better, more comfortable car. Either way....I'm getting it in BLACK.

yes it might be the stronger engine.....but iconic ? no way....a traight six yes ! thats what bmw is known for. but turbochargers on ///M cars are just an absolute NOGO. you don't hear a turbo spool on the m5 neither do you on the x5m or x6m, as it is the same engine. i don't like turbos.....superchargers ok...but I'm just not a fan of turbos.....the 4 liter v8....or the 5 liter v10...those are iconic engines from bmw f1 era .....but those new turbo engines sound just shit compared to the old engines. yes the f10 might be the way prettier car compared to the e60.....but in terms of sound and passion and driving emotions the e60 beats the hell out of the f10. i don't care at all about emissions.....i don't care about fuel economy..i drive till the tank is empty. then i fill it up again. its that simple ..its an ///M car....its not supposed to be economical...its supposed to be fun. Cars with big engines and a lot of horsepowers have always been bought by people weho are still 10 years old inside. a sportscar has never been a sensible decision . if you want to go low on emissions drive a vw polo blue motion. I just don't like those "economical" turbo engine bmw makes now....but thats just me. if you like it fine go ahead and buy one. its just not my taste and by the way i had a z4 35i for the day today....it has over a 100 hp less than my m3. is way less fun to drive. has a tiny boot. has less space. and i really was not driving fast. i just cruised along and it needed 13,1 liters / 100 km.....for a comparison. my average fuel consumption in my m3 is about 15 liters / 100 km. so tell me again how super eco good on fuel those turbo engines are haha
